Winters have made a comeback and since this season is all about layering, wearing sweaters and beanies, can we really not forget our skin? Imagine you are stepping out and your flaky skin is visible. That’s the last thing we want and wish to worry about. Dry feet are a result of dead skin that gets stuck at the top and since our skin is not exfoliated, it shows up every now and then.
Here are simple ways you can get rid of the flaky and dry skin-
Take virgin coconut oil and apply on your feet. Massage well with it and then leave it overnight. You can also mix olive oil to this one and mix tea tree oil to it. It adds to the soothing effect on the skin. Coconut oil is known to be an excellent exfoliator and it can hydrate the skin. It takes away the dryness only with a few applications. Try for yourself!
Apple Cider Vinegar
Add this vinegar to water and then relax your feet in for a while. Now, remove your feet and massage well. This will help you get rid of the dead skin. Rinse with plain water again and then grab a moisturiser. Apple cider vinegar is known to have malic acid in it that can kill the dead skin. It also restores the ph balance of the skin and then whatever the season is, it will always stick by you.
Take brown sugar, coconut oil and also an essential oil. Combine all of them together and then scrub of your feet with this mixture. Do this in circular motions and then wash off with lukewarm water. Brown sugar is your safest bet when you don’t have a scrub around as it exfoliates the skin well. The coconut oil acts like a moisturiser. It can treat dryness as it has essential fatty acids.
4. Listerine and vinegar recipe
Take some vinegar and add listerine in a tub. Then add warm water to cover the flaky skin. Soak your feet in this mixture. Then rub your skin with a pumice stone. Vinegar restores the pH level of the skin and also removes the dead cells. You will notice itchiness lessen and also the dry skin fades.
Apply honey on your feet and massage for a while. Leave for some time and rinse it off with water. Honey is a humectant and it also has nutrients in it. The healing process starts quickly as you bring this into action. The antioxidants present rejuvenate the skin and clear off the free radicals as well.
6. Baking soda
Add baking soda to hot water and soak your feet in it for some time. Let the affected areas experience the bliss of this mixture. Wash it off well and then remove the dead skin. Baking soda acts as an exfoliator for the skin and softens the affected areas. The anti-inflammatory properties of it work like a magic wand.
Firstly, we are breaking the myth that vaseline is only for lips. This remedy has been used for clothing hacks as well. That said, grab this one and apply on the affected areas. Once done, wear socks and sleep peacefully. The jelly in it locks the moisture and also takes away the dryness caused. You will notice your skin tone and texture change.
Add this one to water and apply on the affected areas. Soak in water for sometime and use a pumice stone to get rid of dead skin. Wash off well and then apply a good moisturiser. The skin becomes loose the moment you use this mixture and the gentle scrubbing can help your legs and feet feel refreshed again.
